Thanks to the global popularity of BTS, HYBE was able to expand to different businesses and acquire other entertainment companies with various popular artists.
Recently, one netizen brought to attention to the top 20 highest first-week album sales in k-pop history and noticed that 13 spots of the top 20 belonged to HYBE artists.
As expected, ranks 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8 were BTS (5), with TXT (2) in ranks 4 and 15. Seventeen (5) took the ranks 7, 13, 14, 15, and 20. Finally, ENHYPEN (1) was able to come in rank 16.
Korean netizens were surprised by this and commented, “Wow, if you look at TOP 10, 7 of them are HYBE artists,” “This is amazing,” “Even music streaming ranking, it’s all HYBE artists,” “HYBE basically owns the album market,” and “This is pretty crazy.”
