BTS has teamed up with the beloved animation ‘Toy Story.’
On April 4, HYBE announced a collaboration with Walt Disney Company Korea to introduce the ‘Toy Story TinyTAN.’
TinyTAN transforms all seven BTS members into adorable characters. Since its launch in 2020, TinyTAN’s two animated videos have garnered over 200 million views. The characters have further endeared themselves to fans through games, digital products, toys, and various licensed merchandise.
The ‘Toy Story’ series, created by Disney Pixar and consisting of four films to date, stands as the world’s first full 3D feature-length animation. Its heartfelt stories of friendship among living toys and meticulous attention to detail have left an indelible mark on animation history.
‘Toy Story TinyTAN’ represents a unique intellectual property (IP) collaboration between a K-pop sensation and iconic animation characters. The TinyTAN characters sport outfits reminiscent of well-loved ‘Toy Story’ characters like Woody, Alien, Hamm, Rex, and Buzz Lightyear. For instance, the RM character dons Woody’s cowboy hat and attire, while Jin is dressed in Alien’s space suit. Recently, HYBE teased a crossover with a cutout cartoon on the TinyTAN X (formerly Twitter) account.
Fans can purchase official ‘Toy Story TinyTAN’ merchandise, including figures, pens, blankets, mini photo card holders, keyrings, and magnet sets, via the global commerce platform Weverse Shop. Additionally, Shinsegae Department Store plans to launch a range of products featuring the ‘Toy Story TinyTAN’ characters across fashion, accessories, and lifestyle brands starting next month.
