BTS Jin’s older brother, Kim Seok Joong, has come forward to address the allegations surrounding the controversy of preferential treatment at the Bruno Mars concert.
In a detailed message shared on June 19, Kim Seok Joong expressed his desire to clarify the situation and prevent further damage. He acknowledged that his actions had inadvertently caused controversy at an event that was meant to be enjoyable for all attendees.
Addressing the issue of the tickets in question, Kim Seok Joong clarified, “Contrary to speculation, the tickets were not acquired through any illegal means or obtained expediently. They were not invitation tickets purchased in advance from a specific company or organization.” He wanted to assure everyone that there was no wrongdoing involved in obtaining the tickets.
Kim Seok Joong further explained, “As indicated on the invitation, it clearly stated that the ticket could be used by the card member or the person to whom it was given.” He sincerely apologized for any misunderstandings that may have arisen as a result of this situation.
The Bruno Mars concert, part of the ‘Hyundai Card Super Concert’ series, took place on the 17th and 18th of this month at the Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul’s Jamsil Sports Complex.
The event saw a massive turnout of over 100,000 spectators, including renowned celebrities such as BTS’s RM and V, BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and Rosé, G-Dragon, Song Hye Kyo, Han Ga In, Yeon Jung Hoon, Sunmi, Park Jin Young, and more.
However, concerns were raised when it was discovered that a significant number of invitation tickets had been issued to celebrities, with their seats placed prominently near the stage, leading to allegations of preferential treatment.
Amidst the ongoing controversies, doubts and suspicions were raised when Kim Seok Joong confirmed his attendance at the concert using an invitation. Speculation began to circulate, suggesting that the preferential treatment extended beyond the celebrities themselves and that invitations had been distributed to their family members and close acquaintances.
