Last year, BTS‘s maknae Jungkook unexpectedly deleted his Instagram account, much to ARMYs’ disappointment.

Yet, Jungkook has finally returned to the app!

On April 14, KST, Jungkook revealed to ARMYs via the HYBE community platform Weverse that he opened a new Instagram account. It’s not for himself, though. It’s for his pet Dobermann dog Bam. He revealed it was created so he could “brag” about his “baby.”

At the time of writing, there are only seven posts, all focused on Bam, on the new account. The handle is @bowwow_bam.

At first glance, the comment section is wholesome. Many ARMYs are happy to communicate with Jungkook again, even if it’s through his dog.

However, some have used the comment section to urge Jungkook to speak up on social issues, primarily concerning Israel’s war against Palestine, as thousands of innocent lives have been lost. Likewise, there is an ongoing boycott against HYBE as fans urge the company to divest from Zionism, demanding HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun‘s removal.

At least 33,843 Palestinians have been killed and 76,575 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s October 7 attacks stands at 1,139, and dozens of people are still being held captive in Gaza.

Obviously, these aren’t directing hate toward Jungkook or Bam. Yet, on some posts, a flood of hateful comments is present amidst fan comments. This includes vomiting, poop, middle finger, and knife emojis along with insults. Many are repeats from the same account, presumably anti-fans or fans of other artists.

ARMYs are flabbergasted that anyone would leave such hateful comments, especially on cute photos of a dog. Bam is certainly innocent and deserves only love.

On the other BTS members’ Instagram accounts, the comment section is closed from anyone commenting except for the members who follow each other. Jungkook might have to update Bam’s account and add this setting, too.
