The composers behind BTS Jungkook‘s recent solo hit, “Seven”, have been hit with plagiarism accusations, according to an exclusive media outlet report.
On August 22, accusations were raised against Andrew Watt, Jon Bellion, Henry Walter, Theron Makiel Thomas, and Latto, the writers and composers of “Seven”. The accusations claim that they “borrowed” the “same scale sequence” from the Fin.K.L song “Time of Mask”, which was released back in 2000 as a B-side track from their S.P.E.C.I.A.L album.
The song was composed by Yang Joon Young, who has reportedly forwarded a request for evaluation of the scale sequence of “Seven” to a producer at HYBE Labels, BTS’s company.
The label sent a “temporary response” stating that the issue can’t be resolved at this time, given that producer Bang Si Hyuk is currently overseas in the United States for a business trip.
Here are the two songs in question, which you can compare for yourselves.
