BTS has added yet another milestone to its record-breaking history on Melon’s year-end chart.
On January 8, Melon, South Korea’s leading music streaming platform, unveiled its 2025 Melon Year-End Chart Top 100, covering streaming data from January 1 to December 31 of last year.
BTS ranked No. 77 with “Spring Day,” the title track from their second full-length repackage album ‘YOU NEVER WALK ALONE.’
Released in February 2017, “Spring Day” has set a historic record as the longest-charting song in Melon’s year-end chart history. Beginning with its release year, the track has remained on the annual chart for nine consecutive years.
An industry official explained, “This reflects the song’s long-standing selection by music fans,” adding that “its relatable lyrics and lyrical melody are key reasons it continues to receive enduring love.”
The achievements do not end there. “Spring Day” became the first song on the platform to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams and also holds the record for the longest run on Melon’s daily chart, spanning seven years and 11 months.
Musically, “Spring Day” is rooted in alternative hip-hop, characterized by Brit rock sensibilities and electronic sounds. RM and Suga contributed lyrics drawn from their personal experiences, adding emotional depth to the song.
Last year, Rolling Stone ranked “Spring Day” at No. 37 on its list of the “Greatest Songs of the 20th Century,” praising the track for delivering “a transcendent resonance of hope blossoming amid loss.”
In addition, Jungkook’s first solo single “Seven” placed No. 60 on the Melon year-end chart, marking its third consecutive year on the list and underscoring its long-term popularity.
Meanwhile, BTS is set to release its fifth full-length album on March 20, featuring a total of 14 tracks.
