Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, earned his first nomination at the ‘UKMVA‘.
Taehyung’s digital single “FRI(END)S,” released on March 15, has been nominated for the “Best Pop International” category at the “2024 UK Music Video Awards (UKMVA).”
The UK Music Video Awards, established in 2008, recognizes innovative music videos that are both creatively and technically outstanding.
“FRI(END)S” is a pop soul R&B track that expresses the desire to “put the ‘end’ in friends” and elevate a longstanding friendship to a deeper level, as cleverly hinted by the title’s wordplay.
The song features sweet lyrics and a soothing melody that blends beautifully with Taehyung’s voice and emotions.
In the music video, Taehyung showcases two contrasting sides of himself, depicting parallel experiences of being single and being in a relationship.
The “FRI(END)S” music video was filmed in the UK and directed by renowned British director Samuel Bradley. Upon its release, the video ranked #1 on YouTube’s Global Top Music Videos chart.
