BTS’s Jimin has generously contributed 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) to support students in North Jeolla Province.
On September 25, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education told Dispatch in a phone interview, “Jimin’s representatives expressed their intention to donate 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) for scholarships back in July.”
The donation was arranged through Jimin’s father, who contacted the provincial office to discuss the donation process. The amount was subsequently deposited into the Love Scholarship Foundation account.
The funds will be used for scholarships for elementary, middle, high, and special school students in the province, aimed at supporting both academically outstanding students and those in financial need. This marks Jimin’s sixth donation to local education offices. Since 2019, he has contributed 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) each to the Busan, Jeonnam, Gangwon, Chungbuk, and Gyeongnam education offices.
Jimin has consistently used his influence for philanthropic efforts. He has donated over 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, earning membership in the elite Green Noble Club of high-value donors. He has also contributed 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) to the Army’s Patriotism and Comradeship Fund for servicemen and provided the same amount for relief efforts following the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
Meanwhile, BTS is preparing for a full-group album scheduled for release in the first half of next year.
