BTS member Jin opened up about a time he was scammed during a recent interview.
In a newly released video on Vanity Fair’s YouTube channel, Jin took part in a lie detector test, answering questions with honesty—and a little tension.
When asked if he was nervous, Jin admitted, “I’m nervous because it’s my first time doing a shoot in such a serious atmosphere.”
Though Jin revealed he had received casting offers from several agencies before debut, he confessed he initially thought they were all scams. “I don’t trust people easily. And because of that, I usually don’t get deceived,” he said.
However, he admitted that he has actually been scammed before—while playing online games. “I used to play a lot of games, and I got scammed in several of them,” he shared. “I bought items with real money, but the other person said, ‘I’m just going to take your money and run,’ and they did.”
When asked if anyone had ever mistaken him for a scammer, Jin recalled one incident. “It happened once a long time ago. I had lost my phone and was trying to reintroduce myself to someone, but they hung up saying, ‘This isn’t the right number.’”
Still, Jin emphasized, “I don’t usually lose my belongings,” making it clear that he’s generally cautious—just not immune to the occasional online trickery.
