BTS’s RM recently generated buzz in a popular online community after he made a post on his social media.
On March 28, BTS’s RM took to his Instagram Stories to share a note he created back on May 8, 2017. In the memo, RM wrote, “True revenge is to be strong. To survive. To protect,” garnering much attention online.
After seeing the post, one fan explained in a popular online community, “During the time BTS was on the rise, it’s well-known that fandoms from both Korea and overseas harassed the group to the point it was almost a crime. Even broadcasting companies abused their power over them. They told the group to do the pre-recording 20 times and made the members worn out. And then told them to appear on the live broadcast because they were nominated for 1st place but then the group wasn’t even nominated. Other idols would ridicule them when they appeared on the broadcast when they weren’t even nominated (This was revealed in their biography).”
The fan continued, “The other idols always harassed them under the pretense of it being a ‘diss’ because they (BTS) were from a small company. It’s so obvious that what happened behind the scenes was even more severe.”
The poster continued, “When entering the U.S. market, it’s said that they also faced racial discrimination within that environment (But still they donated 1 billion KRW/750,000 USD to anti-racial discrimination movements and delivered speeches on this topic at the White House). What’s really cool about BTS is that they chose to become stronger for their true revenge. After becoming stronger, they tried to exert a positive influence and became even more admirable.”
Korean netizens unanimously believe that BTS’s career is truly exceptional and nothing short of phenomenal. They commented, “Wow, RM is really awesome,” “BTS is really awesome,” “I can’t believe all that is true in the biography,” “This is really cool,” “I’m so thankful that they endured until now,” “This is the most awesome revenge that I’ve ever seen,” “This is what true strength is,” “I’m so thankful that they endured and they stayed together through all that,” “They were told to perform ‘Danger’ 20 times in the summer time,” “There is always a reason behind the success,” and “I can really see that the path BTS took wasn’t easy. If the company is small, you get stomped on and it’s really hard to survive. What I really like about BTS is that they always became mentally strong after going through such hardships.”
