BTS’s RM will take the stage as a keynote speaker at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
RM is scheduled to deliver his keynote at the APEC CEO Summit on October 29 at 3:05 PM, presenting on the topic, “Creative Cultural Industries in the APEC Region and the Soft Power of K-Culture.”
This marks the first time a K-pop artist has spoken at an APEC event. Drawing from his experience on the global stage, RM is expected to highlight the importance of K-Culture and its influence worldwide.
Previously, in 2018, RM participated as a speaker at the UNICEF Youth Agenda event. At that time, he became the first Korean artist to address a United Nations General Assembly venue. He encouraged young people to “love themselves and raise their own voices.” In 2020 and 2021, he also returned to the UN General Assembly to deliver messages of hope to youth around the world.
The APEC CEO Summit will be held from October 28 to 31 at the Gyeongju Arts Center, with approximately 1,700 participants, including 16 heads of state from APEC’s 21 member countries and business leaders.
