According to media outlet ‘Dispatch‘ on March 28 KST, BTS member SUGA entered the Nonsan training center on this day to receive his 3-week basic military training.
SUGA, who began his mandatory service as a public service worker in September of last year, will continue the remainder of his duties in his assigned public service position after completing his mandatory training.
Unlike most new recruits who begin their mandatory service with basic training first, SUGA applied to begin his public service before undergoing basic training. Current enlistment regulations allow anyone who is assigned to public service to choose this option. Some enlisters choose this option due to the fact that it assigns enlisters to a random position, rather than allowing them to choose a position (for example, one that is close to one’s home).
Those who wish to choose their assigned positions/locations may have to wait longer to begin their duties, due to the limited availability of public service work positions compared to the number of enlisters.
