On August 25, BTS member V threw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium.
Just before his pitch, V took the time to connect with Dodgers infielder Kim Hye Seong, who is recovering from a shoulder injury.
On August 26, the Dodgers posted the exchange on social media, showing the two Korean stars greeting each other virtually. Kim, currently rehabbing a left shoulder injury in Triple-A Oklahoma City, introduced himself by saying he was a fan. V replied that it was an honor for him as well and expressed regret that they could not meet in person.
The two discussed meeting once Kim returns to Los Angeles, with V saying he would like to learn baseball formally from him.
Later that evening, V took the field in a Dodgers uniform as BTS’s “MIC Drop” played through the stadium. He delivered the pitch left-handed to loud cheers before declaring the team’s iconic phrase, “It’s time for Dodger baseball.”
