Sixteen artists and producers affiliated with HYBE Labels have been invited as new voting members of the Recording Academy, the U.S.-based organization that presents the prestigious ‘Grammy Awards.’

On July 10, the Recording Academy announced the induction of several HYBE-affiliated musicians, including BUMZU, Zico, Seventeen’s Woozi and Vernon, TXT’s Yeonjun, ENHYPEN’s Jungwon, LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yunjin, and all members of the global girl group KATSEYE, as its newest voting members.

Founded in 1957, the Recording Academy represents music professionals across the industry and has hosted the ‘Grammy Awards’ since 1959. New members are selected each year through a peer review process based on nominations from current members.

HYBE has previously seen representation in the Academy through Chairman Bang Si Hyuk, BTS, and producer Pdogg. As voting members, the new inductees will take part in selecting ‘Grammy Award’ recipients, highlighting their growing influence in the global music scene.

Spotlight on the New Members

BUMZU is a prolific producer known for crafting Seventeen’s hits as well as songs for other K-pop acts. He swept all categories in the Popular Music division at the ‘11th Korea Music Copyright Awards,’ showcasing his impact in the industry.

Zico is recognized both as an artist and a producer, praised for balancing commercial appeal and artistic quality. His notable songs include “Any Song,” “Boys and Girls,” “I Am You, You Are Me,” and “SPOT!”

SEVENTEEN’s Woozi and Vernon have made significant contributions through both group projects and collaborations with artists worldwide. Woozi has over 203 registered compositions with the Korea Music Copyright Association, while Vernon has more than 103.

TXT’s Yeonjun has built his musical repertoire through group releases such as “LO$ER=LO♡ER,” “Good Boy Gone Bad,” and “Sweet Dreams.” His solo mixtape “GGUM” demonstrated his genre-crossing versatility.

Jungwon, the leader of ENHYPEN, has played a key role in the group’s rise as a global act. ENHYPEN is known for combining a unique fictional universe with music, webtoons, and storytelling-based albums.

LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yunjin has contributed as both a performer and producer. She led the production of “Crazier” from the group’s fourth mini album and continues to release solo songs such as “I ≠ DOLL,” “love you twice,” and “Raise your glass.”

All members of KATSEYE, a U.S.-based girl group formed through a K-pop-style production system, have also been invited to join the Academy. Less than a year after debuting, the group entered the Billboard 200 chart at number four with their second mini album Beautiful Chaos, released on June 27.

In addition to artists, three HYBE producers: Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi, and Wonderkid have also been selected as new Academy members. These producers have contributed to numerous hits across HYBE’s roster, from BTS to ILLIT.

HYBE’s Global Impact

A representative from HYBE stated, “This recognition reflects the growing global influence of K-pop and the rising stature of our company and its artists. We will continue to support our musicians and expand their presence in global music communities such as the Recording Academy.”

With these new additions, HYBE strengthens its position as a key player in shaping the future of K-pop and global music.
