It’s officially been a year since BTS‘s Suga started his celebrity talk show Suchwita, and his latest special guest, who appeared on Jin‘s birthday, just so happened to be the eldest BTS member’s close friend, actor Kim Nam Gil.
BTS’s Jin has been a longtime fan of Kim Nam Gil and named him as an inspiration behind his desire to pursue acting when he was younger.
Jin revealed the two had become friends and made a special appearance at the premiere of Kim Nam Gil’s movie, Emergency Declaration, in 2022.
At the beginning of the Suchwita episode, Kim Nam Gil told Suga that he suspected he would get along well with Suga, just as he does with Jin.
When Kim Nam Gil was first scheduled to appear as a guest on Suchwita, Suga attended the premiere of his film, A Man Of Reason, in an effort to become closer to the actor before filming.
As a thank you for inviting him on the show and for attending the premiere, Kim Nam Gil brought a gift to Suga.
Because Kim Nam Gil doesn’t drink alcohol, he brought sparkling water with mint, apple, and lemon for the two to enjoy while also gifting Suga a nice bottle of whisky to drink with friends.
The veteran actor explained that he had wanted to bring a second gift for Suga and had sought suggestions from Jin. When he called him and asked what Suga liked, Jin replied that he liked basketball.
Kim Nam Gil already knew that, so he asked Jin for other ideas, but the oldest BTS member and Suga’s former roommate hilariously answered, “Honestly, I don’t know what he likes either.”
While Jin may not have had gift ideas during his phone call with Kim Nam Gil, the two BTS members are undeniable besties, and the actor and Suga bonded over fond stories of Jin throughout the episode.
