Investment platform 'SimInvest' announces BTS's V (Kim Taehyung) as their new International Brand Ambassador

BTS member Kim Taehyung, aka V, was unveiled as the new international brand ambassador for ‘SimInvest,’ an online trading and investment platform.

Sinar Mas, the conglomerate which owns SimInvest, is one of the largest in Indonesia, with businesses in different sectors, including real estate, financial services, agribusiness, telecommunications, and mining.

SimInvest was launched to tap into vast youth investor potential. Their new campaign with Taehyung as the ambassador aims to provide investment solutions for millennials and Z generations.

When asked why they chose Taehyung, SimInvest highlighted his popularity and success.

“The reason is clear, we see V since he has his own activities, Instagram records, his career path, his hard works, his records, everything. Amazing.” – Ferita Lie, President Commissioner of Sinarmas Sekuritas

SimInvest also shared how Taehyung’s personality fits their brand.

The announcement came with the release of a cinematic commercial filmed at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.

During their press conference, SimInvest also cited iPrice’s 2021 report, which states that Taehyung is the ‘bias’ or most popular member in the Southeast Asian region, reaching 26% on Google searches.

SimInvest follows the trend of local companies getting Korean celebrities as brand ambassadors.

Taehyung was a strategic choice not only for his immense popularity and the fan engagements he brings but also for his status as a ‘Generation Z’ icon, the brand’s target demographic.

Following the announcement and adverts, Taehyung took over social media and occupied the Top 4 trends on Twitter, with #TAEHYUNGxSimInvest trending at #1 worldwide.

A fan meeting event with Taehyung is being planned with HYBE and is scheduled to be held in South Korea this coming June. More details will be revealed later.
