The song had now accumulated over 10.8 million streams, beating the previous record of 10.7 million held by NewJeans ‘Hype Boy.’ What makes this record even more impressive is the fact that ‘Like Crazy’ has become the most streamed song in the history of the platform in the country in just five months from its release day, that too without the help of any big playlists or radio and advertisements that could significantly boost the song’s audience to accelerate the gaining of streams! Achieving this feat organically and within such a such period is proof of why Jimin is so popular in South Korea.
What is more, Jimin has 3 songs on the list of the Top 10 most streamed songs in the country and is the only Korean/K-pop solo artist with multiple songs in the Top 10 of this ranking.
Jimin and NewJeans are the only Korean acts with a song exceeding 10 million streams on South Korea’s chart, and Jimin is the only solo artist with this feat in the history of the chart. He achieved this record as of the update for the chart dated August 25.
Additionally, as of the same update on Sept 3, Jimin spent his 393rd day on Spotify South Korea’s artists chart where he remained #1 on the chart. This became his 114th day ranking as the top most streamed artist on the platform in the country, extending his record as the longest charting solo artist in the world at #1 on South Korea’s artists chart, further demonstration of him being the country’s favorite idol.
In other news, ‘Like Crazy’ has also become the 9th most streamed song by a K-pop act on Spotify’s Global chart.
