Even though he is only less than 3 months old as a solo artist, he is making such big strides in his solo career that one can’t help but be amazed at his power. Just a few days after setting a new Guinness World Record as the Fastest Korean Solo Artist to reach 1 Billion streams on Spotify [refer here], Jimin has once again set two new significant records on the platform, thanks to his impressive daily streaming numbers that show just how popular and in demand his music is.
On June 14, Jimin became the First and Only Korean Solo Artist to reach 1 Billion Streams on Spotify in a single calendar year. He achieved this feat in just 164 days or in 5 months and 13 days.
Notably, he has set this new record when the year is just halfway, meaning that he will end the year with a much bigger number for this record!
As of the same day of June 14, Jimin’s Spotify profile has now accumulated 1.2 Billion streams, giving him a second record as the Fastest Korean Solo Artist to reach 1.2 Billion Streams on the platform, doing so in just 415 days, which is 72 days faster than the previous record held by fellow BTS member Jungkook.
Amazingly, as earlier stated, out of the 1.2 Billion Streams accumulated over 415 days, 1 Billion of them are from this year alone, and it is only half a year! In addition, while it took him 393 days to reach 1 Billion streams across all credits, it took him only 164 days to reach 1 Billion streams in this year alone!
This goes to show how fast he is progressing as a soloist and how wildly successful Jimin’s solo debut is, and raises anticipation for his future projects. Considering all the records he has set domestically and internationally with his solo debut, aside from those detailed here, it is without a shadow of a doubt that Jimin has had the most successful solo debut among all Korean soloists in history.
Adding up all his solo songs under his name and under BTS’ discography before he officially debuted as a solo artist, he has now surpassed 2.1 Billion streams already!
