It is now just over three weeks since Jimin‘s solo debut and ‘Like Crazy‘ continues to push boundaries for K-pop music, and more significantly for K-pop solo artists, with the ‘Jimin wave.’ This ‘Jimin wave’ has especially been and continues to be witnessed in the top music markets of the world, like the USA and the UK, both of which rank 1st and 3rd, respectively, among the most significant music markets globally. Therefore any achievements in these markets carry massive weight for any artist. As such, Jimin’s impressive chart performance in both music markets is drawing more and more attention to him and has positioned him as a force to reckon with, not just in the K-pop world but in the general global music world.

Jimin already made history on the UK music charts as the first and only Korean soloist to rank inside the Top 10 of the UK Official Singles Chart at #8, and as of the third week of release, ‘Like Crazy’ has continued to maintain its good performance on this chart by staying inside the Top 40 for three consecutive weeks. This makes Jimin the first and only Korean soloist to rank inside the Top 40 of the UK Official Singles Chart for three weeks, a feat that deserves to be applauded considering how difficult the European music charts are to enter, let alone stay on the charts! The only other Korean acts to rank on the chart for this long were two group acts, one being his own group BTS.

‘Like Crazy’ also remained at #3 on the UK Official Radio Big Top 40 chart in its third week, further exhibiting the song’s massive popularity in the country!

Back in the USA, ‘Like Crazy’ is still holding steady and proving its success in this market as it has remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third consecutive week. This has now made it the longest-charting Korean solo song on the chart after PSY’s ‘Gentleman’ in 2013, which is close to a decade ago. Additionally, Jimin now becomes the 4th longest-charting Korean soloist on the chart.

Aside from that, Jimin has also maintained momentum and ranked on other Billboard charts like the Artist 100, Billboard 200, Global 200, Global 200 (Excl. US), Digital Song Sales, World Digital Song Sales, World Albums chart, Top Album Sales chart, Top Current Album Sales chart and many more, as outlined below.

On the United World Chart, and specifically the albums chart, Jimin’s ‘FACE’ remained at #1 for the second week in a row with 279k units sold, which also resulted in a new record for Jimin. His album now becomes the biggest album debut by an artist on the chart in 2023, with a total of close to 1.4 million album units sold. With this number of sales units, ‘FACE’ now becomes the 3rd best-selling album of 2023 on this chart, achieving this in just three weeks!
