Less than three weeks after the release of Jimin‘s solo debut album ‘FACE,’ he continues to reach new heights and set unprecedented records as a Korean soloist, both with his album and with the album’s leading track ‘Like Crazy.’ This is especially true for two of the biggest music markets in the world, the USA and Japan, where Jimin’s record-breaking streak has not slowed down its momentum. He is still adding on to the numerous records that were already reported for the first and second weeks of the album’s release, further proving the massive global success that the album has achieved, which has put Jimin’s name at par with all the other big names in the global music industry even though this is only his first solo album, and that makes his success that much more legendary and historic!

In Japan, ‘FACE’ surpassed the 250k sales units mark, which saw the album earn a Platinum Certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). Thus, Jimin became the First Korean Soloist in history to earn a RIAJ Platinum Certification with a foreign language album! The only other Korean solo artist to achieve this certification in the country did so with a Japanese album (BoA).

In the USA, ‘Like Crazy’ extended its popularity by remaining at the top of the country’s top-selling songs, after it maintained its #1 rank on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart for a second consecutive week.

By so doing, the song became Jimin’s longest-running #1 hit, as well as the longest-charting song by a Korean or a K-pop soloist on the chart in this decade!

‘Like Crazy’ also maintained its #1 position on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart for a second week in a row.

Overall, Jimin had 2 songs on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart this week, both ‘Like Crazy’ and ‘Set Me Free Pt.2,’ and 4 songs on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, including ‘Like Crazy,’ ‘Set Me Free Pt.2,’ ‘Face off,’ and ‘Alone.’

Another record emerged on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart, where ‘Like Crazy spent its third week on the chart and inside the top 10, making it the longest charting song inside the top 10 on the chart after the chart underwent reforms.

It is worth noting that before the chart reforms, Jimin had also set a record as the first and only artist to top this chart both as a soloist and with a group, doing so for seven good weeks [read here], and he still holds this record!

Jimin also made entries on several other Billboard charts, both with the ‘FACE’ album and ‘Like Crazy’ single, some for a second-week consecutive week and some for a third straight week, as outlined below.
