Jimin‘s hit single ‘Like Crazy‘ continues to achieve impressive milestones on Spotify, nearly nine months after its release. These accomplishments underscore the success of his solo debut. In the past week alone, ‘Like Crazy’ has broken five new records, adding to Jimin’s growing list of achievements.
As of December 17, ‘Like Crazy’ has spent 267 days on the Spotify Global Daily Top Songs chart, which lists the top 200 most-streamed songs daily worldwide. This tenure sets a new record for the longest-charting solo song by a Korean/K-pop artist in the chart’s history, surpassing Lisa’s ‘Money,’ which held the record at 266 days.
Additionally, ‘Like Crazy’ is now tied with Fifty Fifty’s ‘Cupid’ as the longest-charting song of 2023 by a Korean/K-pop act on the Spotify Global Daily Top Songs chart, each marking 267 days on the chart.
Just a day later, on Dec 18, ‘Like Crazy’ reached another milestone as it spent its 268th day on Spotify Global Daily Top Songs chart, to now set yet another record as the longest-charting song by a Korean or K-pop artist this 2023 on the chart after surpassing ‘Cupid’ by Fifty Fifty (267 days).
With this milestone, the song also became the 6th longest charting song by any K-pop act in history on this chart, and it entered the list of top 10 most streamed songs released in 2023 on Spotify at #10 after surpassing ‘Boy’s A Liar’ by Ice Spice and Pink Pantheress.’
The third and fourth records were achieved in the streaming numbers just a day after the second record. ‘Like Crazy’ exceeded 745 Million streams on Spotify as of Dec 18 to become the fastest Korean song to achieve this feat in just 269 days. It also becomes the fastest solo song by a Korean solo artist to reach this feat!
Additionally, still on the same 269th day after its release, surpassing 745 Million streams, ‘Like Crazy’ also broke a 5th record as the biggest debut streaming year for a Korean song on Spotify history, a record previously held by BTS and Coldplay’s ‘My Universe’ with 742 Million streams.
The longevity on the charts that has brought about all these records is a clear indication of the song’s global popularity so many months down the line. Jimin made a masterpiece that will be remembered for a long time!
