On March 21, he posted on his personal account, saying, “If you cannot bring happiness, you should not bring unhappiness either.” He continued by adding, “It is not like there are no other places to hold a concert,” making a remark that appeared to criticize the choice of venue.
BTS is set to hold a free concert titled ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’ at 8 p.m. in the Gwanghwamun Square area to celebrate the release of their fifth full-length album.
Police estimate that up to 260,000 people may gather in the Gwanghwamun area on the day of the event. In response, approximately 6,700 police personnel have been deployed, including units for traffic control, crime prevention, detectives, riot police, and special forces. Around 5,400 pieces of equipment have also been mobilized.
Strict crowd control measures are currently in place. A total of 31 entry gates have been installed in key areas of the venue, and walk-through metal detectors have been set up to inspect the belongings of attendees and pedestrians.
Sulli passed away on October 14, 2019, at the age of 25. He also directly mentioned the group by adding, “Wishing BTS the best.” His comments are being interpreted as criticism of the heavy congestion currently forming near Gwanghwamun, where the concert is taking place.
