Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, has achieved a historic milestone as a soloist!
Taehyung’s debut solo album, “Layover,” has made history as the first album by a K-pop soloist to have all its tracks surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, with “Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)” being the final track to hit the milestone.
This remarkable feat is even more noteworthy given that Taehyung has not collaborated with other artists for his debut album, a contrast to the approach taken by the majority of his BTS bandmates.

The album’s success is further underscored by its record-breaking speed. “Layover” achieved this milestone in just 258 days, making it the fastest album by an Asian act to reach this landmark. It surpasses the previous record held by NewJeans’s “Get Up.”

“Layover’s” record also highlights Taehyung’s popularity in the global music scene, as it becomes the fifth fastest album worldwide to have all its tracks surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, and the third among male artists.

Released on September 8, 2023, “Layover” was met with widespread acclaim for its innovative blend of lo-fi, pop, R&B, and jazz, showcasing Taehyung’s unique vocal style and artistic vision.
The success of “Layover” is a testament to Taehyung’s artistry and the dedication of his fans who celebrated the groundbreaking achievement by taking over the top 3 worldwide trends on X (Twitter).
Congratulations, Taehyung!
