Jungkook was seen enjoying eating fried chicken along with watching ‘Physical 100’ on his WeVerse live stream with over 10M real-time viewers. According to Netflix’s updated data for this week, the show’s ratings boosted and reached a new peak for this week after Jungkook’s live stream.
‘Physical: 100’ is an extreme survival game entertainment in which 100 people who are proud of their physique and claimed they’re the strongest, compete with each other to find the best body with the strongest physical strength. Since its first release on January 24th, it has ranked in the Top 5 Global charts on Netflix and has been gaining immense popularity.
The producer of Netflix’s Physical 100’ couldn’t help bragging and thanking Jungkook for watching his show, at the press conference for Netflix’s ‘Physical: 100’ held in Seoul on February 7.
Jang PD said, “I was touched looking at fan art and videos for contestants that fans have been uploaded since last week. I want to tell you that the contestants are so grateful.”
He added what he thought might be a big reason for the big interest in the show, “BTS’ Jungkook watched ‘Physical: 100’ on live broadcast, and after that, there were 10 million users watching our show,” he said. “I tried not to brag, but I can’t help it.”
Yoshihiro Akiyama (Choo Sung-hoon), a Korean Japanese MMA fighter, judoka, gold medals winner, TV personality, and popularly known as Sarang’s father, who has sparred with Jungkook and is a part of ‘Physical 100’ also posted multiple stories and thanked Jungkook for watching it on his Instagram stories.
‘Physical 100’ ratings rose from #7 to #3 on the most-watched Netflix shows in the world this week, with an increase of more than 9 million hours viewed (from 22.5m to 31.3m) as compared to the last week. The show also became the most-viewed non-English show on Netflix all over the world in the last week after Jungkook’s live.
“Before his live, it was #7 most-watched non-English series on Netflix with 22.5 million hours viewed. Netflix’s updated weekly data shares Physical: 100 received 31.3 million hours viewed over the 7-day period that ended on February 5. The big jump in viewership (which, even the producer of the show is attributing to Jungkook), means Jungkook helped give the show millions more hours of viewing time over simply a 3-day period.”
