Venerable Pomnyun Sunim served as the officiant at the wedding of top star couple Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin, while singer Car, the Garden delivered the congratulatory song to celebrate the couple’s new beginning.
According to YTN Star’s coverage on December 20, Venerable Pomnyun Sunim officiated the wedding ceremony of actors Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin, which took place at 7 p.m. at the Dynasty Hall of The Shilla Seoul in Jangchungdong, Jung District. Car, the Garden performed the congratatory song, offering his blessing for the couple’s future together.
Venerable Pomnyun Sunim reportedly took on the role of officiant due to his long-standing connection with Kim Woo Bin. Known for quietly holding free, private lectures for individuals working in the entertainment industry, Venerable Pomnyun Sunim became someone Kim Woo Bin deeply relied on emotionally during his difficult battle with nasopharyngeal cancer.
The wedding was held privately under strict security, with attendance limited to family members, relatives, and close acquaintances. Despite the private nature of the ceremony, large crowds of domestic and international fans gathered outside the venue, once again highlighting the couple’s global popularity.
Numerous celebrities from the entertainment industry attended the wedding. Actor Lee Kwang Soo served as the host of the ceremony, while Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.), producer Na Young Seok, and others were also present. D.O. had originally planned to sing a congratulatory song but was unable to do so due to EXO’s awards schedule; he briefly stopped by the venue to personally offer his congratulations.
In addition, BTS’s V, Kim Tae Ri, Gong Hyo Jin, Uhm Jung Hwa, and many fellow actors who have built long-standing relationships with the couple through past projects attended the event. Renowned screenwriters Kim Eun Sook and Noh Hee Kyung were also among the guests.
Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin publicly confirmed their relationship in 2015 and have been in an open relationship for ten years. In 2017, Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and temporarily halted his activities to focus on treatment. He was declared fully recovered in 2019, during which time Shin Min Ah remained by his side throughout his recovery.
