Over the years, K-pop has become a global phenomenon, with its artists breaking boundaries and securing spots on the prestigious ‘Billboard Hot 100′ chart. Whether through collaborations with Western artists or their own chart-topping releases, filled with catchy hooks and vibrant performances, K-pop groups and soloists have made waves in the global music scene.

Let’s check out the top five longest-charting songs by K-pop artists in ‘Billboard Hot 100’ history:

1. Dynamite [BTS] ⏤ 32 Weeks

It’s no surprise that BTS’s smash hit track “Dynamite” tops this list. “Dynamite” made history as the first song by a K-pop act to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song became an international sensation, marking a new chapter in BTS’s already successful career. With 32 weeks on the chart, “Dynamite” holds the record for the longest-charting K-pop song on the Billboard Hot 100.

2. GANGNAM STYLE [PSY] ⏤ 31 Weeks

Released in 2012, PSY’s “GANGNAM STYLE” became a cultural phenomenon that brought K-pop into the global spotlight and is often seen as the song that introduced many international listeners to K-pop. Known for its infectious beat and signature “horse-riding dance,” it spent an incredible 31 weeks on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the second longest-charting song by a K-pop artist.

3. CUPID [FIFTY FIFTY] ⏤ 24 Weeks

Last year, FIFTY FIFTY made waves with their hit “Cupid,” that proved how quickly K-pop can capture the attention of global audiences. “Cupid” took the world by storm with its catchy melody and addictive chorus and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 24 weeks, making it the third longest-charting song by a K-pop act. This success demonstrated that even rookie K-pop groups could find immense global recognition.

4. Who [JIMIN] ⏤ 21 Weeks (Still Charting)

BTS’ Jimin proved his undeniable solo power with his solo hit “Who,” which quickly became a defining moment in his career. Released as the title track of his second mini album, ‘Muse,’ the song spent 21 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and continues to chart as of today. The success of the hit not only solidified Jimin’s individual talent but also highlighted the unwavering power of his dedicated fanbase.

5. One Of The Girls [JENNIE x The Weeknd x Lily-Rose Depp ] ⏤ 20 Weeks

“One Of The Girls” is a high-profile collaboration between BLACKPINK’s Jennie, superstar The Weeknd, and actress and singer Lily-Rose Depp. It was released as an OST for the HBO drama series ‘The Idol’ and marked Jennie’s first major solo collaboration outside of BLACKPINK. The track spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a significant achievement for a song that features both K-pop and Western pop stars.

The Billboard Hot 100 remains one of the most prestigious music charts, and K-pop artists’ increasing presence on this chart highlights the genre’s remarkable rise to global dominance.
