A Korean woman in her 40s who trespassed into BTS member Jungkook’s residence has been referred to prosecutors.
On October 22, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that the woman, identified as ‘A,’ was sent to prosecution on October 14 on charges of trespassing and violating the Stalking Punishment Act.
‘A’ was caught in the act around 11:20 PM on August 30 after entering the parking lot of Jungkook’s detached house in Yongsan District, Seoul. She was arrested at the scene by police officers who responded to a report.
Separately, a Chinese woman in her 30s, identified as ‘B,’ who previously attempted to trespass into Jungkook’s home, has been granted a suspension of indictment. The Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office revealed that it decided on September 10 regarding ‘B,’ who was under investigation for attempted trespassing.
A suspension of indictment means that while the suspect’s criminal act is acknowledged, the prosecutor decides not to proceed with formal charges after considering factors such as the circumstances and outcome of the incident.
According to prosecutors, B’s offense remained at the attempted stage, and considering that she had since left Korea and posed a low risk of reoffending, the decision was made accordingly.
‘B’ had visited Jungkook’s home on June 11, the day he was discharged from military service, and repeatedly tried to enter the front door password before being arrested by police following a report.
During police questioning, A reportedly stated that she “came to Korea to see Jungkook after his discharge from the military.”
