The documentary film ‘Forever We Are Young‘ is set to premiere on March 11 (KST) at the South by Southwest Film Festival 2025 (SXSW) in the United States.

‘Forever We Are Young’ is a film centered around BTS’s fandom, ARMY. It has been selected for the festival’s ‘24 Beats Per Second‘ section and will have its world premiere screening.

The project took approximately three years to complete, with the documentary team traveling worldwide, including Seoul, Los Angeles, Texas, and Mexico City, to meet and interview ARMY members directly.

Co-director Patty An, a professor at the University of California, explained, “BTS spread the message of Love Yourself, and ARMY created a new fandom culture.” She emphasized that this culture is rooted in kindness, joy, and a strong sense of community, adding, “This cultural phenomenon is unprecedented. ARMY has changed the way we think about culture.”

In particular, the fandom has become a symbol of hope in a divided world. The filmmakers shared, “The documentary will move audiences by showcasing a community that unites beyond gender, race, and nationality.”

Co-director Grace Lee also reflected on the BTS fandom, stating, “ARMY embodies the values BTS has shared through their music.” She added, “People from diverse backgrounds connect under the name of ARMY, supporting and uplifting one another. The film captures their diversity, values, and collective strength.”

A production team representative described the film as “a tribute to all who love BTS and a heartfelt love letter to ARMY, offering comfort and inspiration.”
