Becky G shared about her special friendship with J-Hope and revealed she has visited Korea to show support for BTS’s comeback.
On April 2, YouTube channel MMTG released a video featuring the singer. In the new episode on this day, host Jaejae met Becky G, who was visiting Korea for the first time. Mentioning her friendship with BTS, Jaejae wondered if Becky had come to visit Korea for J-Hope. The singer confirmed by saying, “That’s why I’m here. I’m so excited,” and revealed that she had attended BTS’s Gwanghwamun performance at J-Hope’s invitation.
During the candid talk, Becky G also recalled their Lollapalooza stage together. Jaejae brought up the topic by sharing that J-Hope had mentioned his Lollapalooza solo performance when he made a special appearance on MMTG.
Becky G also talked about the performance and revealed that she had planned a surprise event for fans at Lollapalooza. She shared, “At the Lollapalooza performance, what I did to trick everybody – because everybody thought that Becky’s going to be there – I had my sister send a picture of me watching the show from home. And I posted it during his set. So that no one would know. So everyone thought ‘She’s home.’ Then I showed up.”
She added, “J-Hope was really nervous at the time.” Jaejae then said, “I heard you and J-Hope had this exchange. He said, ‘I’m so excited, but I’m kind of nervous. because my English (is not so good).’” Becky G responded, “Then I said ‘Well, I don’t know Korean. We speak the same language. Music. It unites us all.”
Becky G also shared that she invited J-Hope to a carne asada, a traditional Mexican barbecue gathering enjoyed among close friends and family. However, he was unable to attend due to his military service. She added, “But he’s always invited to a carne asada,” to which Jaejae responded, “I envy that friendship.”
