BTS member Jin thrilled fans with his god-like visuals and outstanding athleticism, showcasing his taekwondo skills in a new episode of his personal content series.
On May 13 KST, BTS’s official YouTube and Weverse channels released “[Run Jin] EP.34 | Run Taekwondo!”, featuring Jin in a full taekwondo uniform. With his striking appearance, Jin immediately captivated viewers. “Almost every Korean boy learns taekwondo,” he said, explaining that he earned a black belt as a child. He added with a smile, “The staff gave me a white belt, but there’s no way I could wear that—so I got my black belt back.”
The episode’s guest was WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon, who reunited with Jin after previously meeting as a trainee under Jin’s command during their military service in the 5th Infantry Division. Jin’s excitement at seeing Kang was evident, and the two received lessons and sparred under Lee Ok Hyun, a 6th-dan master and performance team leader of K-Tigers. Jin even recalled meeting Master Lee 10 years ago.
Both Jin and Kang Seung Yoon were blown away by the K-Tigers’ artistic taekwondo performance set to BTS’s “Boy In Luv”. They trained with Masters Lee Ok Hyun and Kim Tae Sung, learning basic techniques and board-breaking kicks. Starting with stretches, the two shared some light banter reminiscent of their drill sergeant-recruit days but quickly displayed serious focus and athletic ability.
The preview for next week’s episode teased an upcoming meeting between Jin and Tom Cruise, sending fans worldwide into a frenzy of anticipation for the momentous encounter between two global superstars.
