BTS‘s Jungkook recently released his first solo album, Golden. The album was highly anticipated from the moment his first single was released, only increasing in fevor after the star-studded line-up was revealed.
The 11-track album almost instantly broken several records, hitting number one in countries worldwide

While many fans were thrilled over the release, after listening to the entire album, some mixed reactions were found.
On a recent forum post, netizens discussed the release with many having mixed reactions to the album. One aspect many felt strongly about was the lack of songwriting credits, something Jungkook addressed following the release, and the “lazy lyrics.”
Some felt the album was not cohesive, and each individual track stood as its own feature instead of working together.
At the same time, some of the things many saw as negatives, others saw as positive. Some favor the many sounds found on his album, and view it as a way for him to continue exploring his sound. Jungkook himself has stated he wants to be a solo artist who can “pull off a lot of genres.”

And while some found the pop nature of the album, including the “not deep” lyrics, took away from the experience, others felt pop music for the sake of pop music can be highly enjoyable.
The one aspect most likely agreed with however, are the short lengths of the songs, as everyone wanted as much Jungkook as possible with this release!
