After weeks of basic training, BTS’s RM and V have been selected as ‘Elite Trainees’ of the ’27th Recruit Training Regiment’.
During the award ceremony, RM gave an eloquent speech sharing his experiences during his training period in a recorded video. He shared, “I had postponed my military enlistment for a long time, and entering the military at a relatively older age made me feel anxious and worried about many things. Also, due to enlisting late, most of my fellow trainees in the barracks were young recruits who were around ten years younger than me.”
RM continued, “Through comprehensive military training, I deeply realized the importance of the military in our divided and armistice state in the Republic of Korea. There were many experiences that I wouldn’t have had if it weren’t for the Army training center. Especially, the night march we completed a few days ago is the most memorable. Walking through the night with fellow comrades, looking at the stars during the challenging times, and sharing encouragement made me feel the camaraderie that I had only heard about.”
He added, “Thanks to the excellent officers and platoon leaders, many challenging and unfamiliar training sessions became fulfilling and enjoyable. I am proud to have found meaning, fun, and fulfillment in military life. I want to express my gratitude.”
RM concluded his speech by saying, “While it would be ideal for everyone not to need to learn marksmanship, the peace enjoyed by South Korea for over 70 years is built upon the noble sacrifices and dedicated efforts of many. I will carry out my duties with the awareness of this foundation.”
Many were impressed yet again by RM’s eloquent speech and praised him on various social media platforms.
