BTS partners with Netflix for global 'ARIRANG' comeback live show in historical first broadcast

Global superstar group BTS is set to take the world by storm with their comeback, with Netflix becoming the closest stage to fans across the globe.

Netflix will exclusively livestream ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG‘ on March 21 at 8 PM KST from Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square. The event celebrates the release of BTS’ fifth full-length album, ‘ARIRANG,’ and will mark the first time audiences can watch RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook perform their new songs live.

The concert is drawing attention as Netflix’s first-ever live event broadcast globally from Korea. Available to all paid subscribers, the livestream signals the platform’s expansion into live entertainment, building on its immersive lineup of films, series, and variety content.

As Netflix’s first music performance broadcast, ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ promises a new way to experience concerts, allowing viewers around the world to tune in simultaneously and share the same stage in real time.

Even fans unable to attend in person will be able to experience BTS’s new performances up close via the platform. The show will be directed by renowned live production maestro Hamish Hamilton, known for helming some of the world’s biggest stages, including the Super Bowl halftime show, the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony, as well as performances by Madonna, Beyonce, and Rihanna. Rather than a simple broadcast, the production aims to deliver a dynamic viewing experience that follows not only the choreography but also the emotional arc unfolding on stage.

A Netflix representative stated, “‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ will go beyond experiencing BTS’s comeback in a single location. It is expected to become a truly live moment in which viewers around the world share the same experience in real time, transcending language and cultural barriers.”

Meanwhile, on March 27, Netflix will also release the feature-length documentary ‘BTS: The Return,’ chronicling the making of ‘ARIRANG.’ The film is directed by Bao Nguyen, who previously helmed the Netflix documentaries ‘The Stringer,’ and is produced by This Machine, known for projects such as ‘Martha‘ and ‘Karol G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful.’ The documentary follows BTS’ journey as they return with a new album after three years and nine months.
