BTS has once again demonstrated its global influence for a good cause, with the group’s donated memorabilia accounting for nearly half of the proceeds raised during a charity auction tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to the nonprofit organization Global Citizen, a charity auction was held through the British auction house Christie’s Charity Auction from July 23 to 30 (KST) in support of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
BTS donated seven personal items to the auction, including RM‘s boots, Jin‘s belt, SUGA‘s pants, J-Hope‘s gloves, V‘s scarf, Jimin‘s shirt, and Jungkook‘s jacket.
Among them, Jimin’s shirt fetched the highest price. The shirt was worn during BTS’s halftime performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 20.
The shirt sold for 110,000 USD, tying with the official match ball used in the World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina as the auction’s highest-priced item.
The other BTS items also attracted impressive bids. V’s scarf and Jungkook’s jacket each sold for 46,200 USD, while SUGA’s pants brought in 33,000 USD.
J-Hope’s gloves sold for 28,600 USD, RM’s boots for 19,800 USD, and Jin’s belt for 16,500 USD.
In total, BTS’s donated items raised 300,300 USD, accounting for approximately 46% of the auction’s overall proceeds of 652,630 USD.
The funds raised will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports educational opportunities and access to soccer for underprivileged children across more than 200 countries worldwide.
Meanwhile, BTS is currently meeting fans around the world through their ‘ARIRANG‘ world tour. The group will perform at MetLife Stadium in the United States on August 1 and 2.
