In the new episode of ‘Suchwita (Time to Drink with SUGA),’ BTS’ J-Hope and SUGA sat down together to share an intimate talk about music, their careers, and their life’s journey.
On this day, J-Hope opened up about his solo activities and how it felt to do everything independently.
While talking about their successful careers, SUGA and J-Hope reminisced of their humble beginnings, where they began in a small company. SUGA initiated the topic by sharing, “Let’s talk about this too (since we’re talking about the past). So you remember when we were living at 9-8?” J-Hope recalled and added, “9-8? That place was insane. But isn’t AMYGDALA about that place?”
SUGA confessed the song was about their first dorm room and recollected the difficulties and struggles the group had to face. SUGA shared, “The team wasn’t disbanded but…remember when we were all told to go home? Because the company ran out of money.”
J-Hope joined and shared, “We didn’t know what to do [Agency ran out of money for their debut and could no long afford a house (for the group)]” SUGA continued with the story, “We were told to find our own places. But we didn’t have money either.” J-Hope added, “So didn’t we refuse to move out in the end?” with SUGA chiming in, “Yeah, we stayed.”
The two BTS members shared the story of resilience and how they endured the difficulty to make it to the top. Because the members refused to give up or move out of their dorms, the group BTS was able to debut.
SUGA shared, “Me, you, and Namjoon, we went and said ‘We can’t move out,’ ‘we can’t move out!’ We said we didn’t have any money to move out. So we stuck it out and for the last time, they got an investment and we were able to debut with that.”
