BTS has officially kicked off its large scale global project ‘BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – LAS VEGAS,’ transforming the city into a sea of red ahead of the group’s ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LAS VEGAS.’
The project began on May 20 ahead of the concerts taking place on May 23–24 and May 27–28 local time. After previously turning Las Vegas purple in 2022, BTS returned this year with red illuminations inspired by the symbolic color of their new album ‘ARIRANG.’

One of the biggest highlights was the activation at Sphere, the world’s largest spherical performance venue. On concert nights, the exterior displayed silhouettes of the BTS members holding traditional Korean lanterns alongside a massive bell image. Messages including “What Is Your Love Song?” and “What Is Your Arirang?” later appeared across the venue’s giant media facade.
The Las Vegas Strip was also illuminated in red, with landmarks including the High Roller, the Las Vegas Eiffel Tower, and the Gateway Arch glowing brightly throughout the city. More than 30 digital billboards across downtown displayed the message “WELCOME TO BTS ARIRANG TOUR,” adding to the festival atmosphere.
A variety of offline events were held throughout the city as well. Large scale fireworks shows set to album tracks “NORMAL” and “Hooligan” took place at major resorts, while monorails wrapped with the phrase “What Is Your Arirang?” drew attention from locals and tourists alike. Fans also participated in a citywide stamp rally mission event.

An immersive media art exhibition featuring new songs including “Body to Body” and “Into the Sun” allowed visitors to experience BTS’s musical world through surreal visuals and sound installations.
‘THE CITY LAS VEGAS’ combines urban infrastructure with BTS’s music and message, receiving an enthusiastic response from global fans. Additional events including the ‘ARIRANG Red Illumination,’ after parties, and F&B collaborations will continue through late May and early June.
Meanwhile, all four shows of ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LAS VEGAS’ sold out completely. Approximately 60,000 fans gathered at Allegiant Stadium for the opening concert on May 23.
During the show, Steve Aoki made a surprise appearance, performing the remix version of “MIC Drop” alongside the group. BTS also shared a heartfelt message with fans, saying, “We sincerely thank everyone who waited for us unchanged for the past four years.”
