BTS wrap up North American tour with ‘Arirang’ moment as 840,000 fans join the journey

BTS concluded their North American tour, drawing a total of 840,000 fans and marking a powerful cultural milestone centered around the traditional Korean song ‘Arirang.’

Starting on April 25 (local time) at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the group held 15 performances across five cities, including El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, and Las Vegas.

The setlist spanned their entire career, from early hits to new releases. One of the most memorable moments came during “Body to Body,” when the audience erupted into a massive singalong of ‘Arirang.’ Fans from around the world sang the Korean folk song together, highlighting the group’s cultural reach beyond music.

U.S. broadcaster ABC7 San Francisco reported that BTS’s popularity is fueling growing global interest in the Korean language and culture. Stanford University Korean Studies professor Dafna Zur noted in an interview that, unlike declining enrollment trends in other languages, demand for Korean language, history, literature, and social studies is rising sharply.

The group also received significant recognition across their tour stops. In Mexico City, BTS were invited by the national president, visited the presidential palace, and received a commemorative plaque as VIP guests. They were greeted by approximately 50,000 citizens at Zócalo Square.

In El Paso, the county commission awarded the members the “Estimado Amigo” honor and officially declared a “BTS Weekend,” reflecting the group’s strong local impact. Las Vegas media outlet 8 News Now described the pre-show atmosphere as “BTS Mania in Las Vegas,” highlighting the city-wide excitement.

Economically, the tour delivered major regional benefits. Las Vegas is projected to gain up to 200 million USD in economic impact, while Tampa’s three shows alone are estimated to have generated around 800–900 million USD. Mexico City’s Chamber of Commerce forecast an impact of approximately 107.5 million USD.

According to Billboard data, BTS’s April performances including shows in Goyang, Tokyo, and Tampa earned 76.2 million USD in revenue and sold 417,000 tickets, ranking them No. 1 among top tours for the month. Tampa’s three-night run also set new records for highest gross and attendance in a single venue during April, with an average of 12.1 million USD per show. Billboard further reported that each concert averaged 12.1 million USD in revenue.

Following the North American leg, BTS will head to Busan for concerts on June 12–13 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. They will then begin their European tour in Madrid on the 26th, before launching a second North American tour starting in East Rutherford in August.
