
BTS has celebrated a remarkable achievement as the music video for their digital single ‘Butter’ crossed 1.1 billion views on YouTube. This makes it the group’s seventh video to reach over a billion views, highlighting their lasting global appeal.
The milestone was reached on the morning of June 27, according to their agency Big Hit Music. Released in May 2021, ‘Butter’ is BTS’s second English-language single following ‘Dynamite’. The track debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on June 5, 2021, marking BTS’s tenth time topping the chart and staying on it for 20 weeks.
When the ‘Butter’ video was released, it set records for speed by reaching 10 million views in just 13 minutes and hitting 100 million views within 21 hours. This rapid success reinforced BTS’s position as global music leaders.
Along with ‘Butter,’ BTS has several other music videos that have crossed the billion-view mark, including ‘Dynamite’ with over 2.1 billion views, ‘Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)’ with 1.9 billion, ‘DNA’ with 1.6 billion, ‘MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)’ with 1.5 billion, and both ‘FAKE LOVE’ and ‘IDOL’ with 1.3 billion views each. This impressive collection demonstrates their strong international fanbase and consistent streaming power.
Currently, BTS is on their world tour titled ‘Arirang,’ continuing to engage fans worldwide. They are set to perform at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 1 and 2, promising more memorable experiences for their global audience.
