As a master hairstylist and salon owner, Park Nae Joo has spent years working with famous celebrity clients like actor Park Bo Gum and SM Entertainment‘s boy groups EXO and NCT.
He also has a longtime partnership with HYBE‘s boy group BTS, joining the team early in their career. Park Nae Joo has been their go-to hairstylist for nearly ten years, whether he’s flying overseas to accommodate them or participating in the styling for their promotions—like Jungkook‘s “Seven”.
So during an interview with the media outlet Yonhap News, they asked Park Nae Joo how it felt to work with the group for so long.
Park Nae Joo admitted it was a question he received often. Instead of being starstruck by the worldwide stars they’ve become, he viewed them as family. He said, “BTS are now global superstars, but for me as a staff [member], I feel like they are my brothers.”
Despite all the time that has passed and the fame they gained, the members have remained the same. Park Nae Joo finished, “We’ve worked together for quite a while now, so they don’t feel like world stars to me.”
Not only has Park Nae Joo become so crucial to BTS that he has creative control over their hairstyling, but they’re also close enough to have a sibling relationship.
