BTS's Jungkook named among AOL’s "15 Most Famous People in the World," alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Elon Musk

BTS’s Jungkook has once again solidified his status as a global icon after being selected as one of the “15 Most Famous People in the World” by U.S. portal site AOL.

According to AOL’s recently released list, Jungkook ranked No. 15 and was the only Asian individual included under his full birth name, Jeon Jungkook. He stood alongside leaders from politics, culture, sports, and business, further highlighting his worldwide recognition. Among male music artists, Jungkook was one of only two to make the list, together with Justin Bieber.

AOL described him as a “multi-talented all-rounder,” praising his abilities as a singer, rapper, songwriter, director, producer, and art enthusiast, emphasizing the wide range of his artistic talents. The list of 15 global figures also included world-renowned names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Elon Musk, and Barack Obama, placing Jungkook among some of the most influential public figures worldwide.

Jungkook’s global impact is also reflected in online trends. In 2025, he ranked No. 1 as the most searched male K-pop idol on YouTube worldwide, maintaining the top position for five consecutive years. He also topped searches in the United States and has remained the most searched K-pop idol on Google for over five years. On TikTok, the hashtag #jungkook surpassed 300 billion views, making him the first solo artist globally to reach the milestone.

In the awards sphere, Jungkook won K-pop Artist Of The Year at the ‘iHeartRadio Music Awards’ and received the Male Artist of the Year award at the ‘People’s Choice Awards,’ becoming the first and only Asian artist to win in that category.

He was also the first and only Korean male singer to be included in Rolling Stone’s “200 Greatest Singers of All Time,” proving his influence as a world-class solo artist. In addition, he ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s “2024 Billboard K Pop Artist 100” list and was named to the A100 list of the most impactful Asians by nonprofit organization Gold House.

Jungkook was the only K-pop artist to appear on The Hollywood Reporter’s Platinum Players Power List of 25 Musicians of the Year. He was also named Artist of the Summer by U.S. radio network Audacy and recognized by Stacker as one of the most famous musicians born in 1997, further underscoring his enduring global fame.
