Appointed as Global Ambassador in June
Donation delivered through the Museum Association

RM of BTS has donated 100 million won to support the National Museum of Korea in acquiring artifacts for its collection.
According to the National Museum of Korea on the 30th, RM (Kim Nam-joon) delivered the donation the previous day to the National Museum of Korea Foundation, the museum’s supporting organization. The Foundation plans to use these funds to purchase artifacts and donate them to the museum.
RM was appointed as the museum’s global ambassador last June, and this donation is part of his ongoing efforts to support culture and the arts.
The Foundation supports the acquisition of artifacts, academic research, and the development of museum facilities. It previously purchased and donated a Joseon Dynasty “Mother-of-Pearl Box with Lotus and Vine Design” in 2023 and a “Cursive Script” (Choso) calligraphy piece by the renowned calligrapher Hwang Gi-ro in 2024.
This method—where a supporting organization purchases and donates artifacts—effectively bridges private support for culture and the arts with the expansion of the national museum’s collection.
“I am delighted to be able to support the museum as its global ambassador,” RM said. “I will continue to join in efforts to promote the museum and our culture.”
