BTS leader RM expressed deep affection for his bandmates, highlighting the strong bond that has kept all seven members together for 14 years.
On March 28, the online channel BDNS released a video titled ‘BTS’s RM Waiting with V for the Missing Jangchung-dong Jokbal,’ featuring a conversation between RM, V, and journalist Moon Sang Hoon.
Reflecting on why the group immediately traveled to Los Angeles for recording after RM’s military discharge, he said, “Right after my discharge, we suggested going to LA together for two months of sessions to work on our album.” He recalled renting a house together in 2018 or 2019 after the members had pursued independent projects. He added, “Living together again after seven years was amazing. Seven men under one roof, especially after already living with about 20 people in the military, could have been uncomfortable, but going through it again and dealing with everything together was actually really great.”
RM explained the creative process at the LA studio, noting, “We usually wake up and exercise together in the morning, have lunch at 1 PM, then work in our respective rooms in the studio until 8 PM. Doing this six days a week for two months, we ended up archiving over 100 songs, from which we selected 14 for the album.” He also recalled that the members sometimes shared drinks at night, with V jokingly adding, “That’s where I had my first soju.”
On the enduring bond among the members, RM said, “It is truly remarkable that we have stayed together for 14 years without a single member leaving. The members are genuinely kind and considerate. More than anything, we all share the desire to convey something to our ARMY, which strengthens our connection even more. I am really moved by that.”
Meanwhile, BTS has recently returned as a full group with their fifth studio album ‘ARIRANG,’ capturing global attention and dominating the international music scene.
