Since Korean pronunciation can be tricky for international fans, BTS‘s Suga mentioned the proper way to say his persona Agust D—which has been a question fans have asked for years.
During Suga’s interview with Billboard magazine, he pointed out that he’s seen the summer month of August added to his name. Due to the similar spelling, he said, “And some people call me August D.”
Suga has also seen others emphasize the first letter. He continued, “Some people call me Ah-gust D.”
He then revealed that the proper way was for everything to flow together. Suga announced, “But, I’m actually Agust D.”
He explained that his music brought both sides of himself together, including the different ways people pronounce his name. Suga finished, “So, you know, people take my name differently, and we had to sync the person SUGA and Agust D.”
