BTS member Kim Taehyung, aka V, demonstrates his brand power for his next solo project.
On March 11, ELLE Korea revealed that Taehyung would be the cover model for their April issue by releasing three blind covers. They used the caption “V is coming,” the same line used by Vogue Korea last year.
ELLE Korea also used the hashtag #Celineboy, leading to speculations that the project will be related to the luxury brand CELINE. Taehyung made headlines last year when he attended CELINE’s Paris Fashion show after receiving a personal invite from Hedi Slimane.
After Taehyung’s record-breaking Vogue Korea covers last year, fans are eagerly anticipating his new project. The mystery surrounding them has raised their excitement even more.
Following the announcement, Taehyung quickly dominated trends, with “V IS COMING” and “V FOR ELLE KOREA” trending at #1 and #2 worldwide on Twitter.
‘China Baidu V Bar,’ Taehyung’s largest Chinese fan club, also revealed they had bought a page on all three versions of ELLE Korea’s April issue. The page will display Taehyung’s photo with a warm message of support from fans.
ELLE Korea showed how the trust they place in Taehyung’s brand power and influence by confidently releasing pre-order links with just the blind covers. It is the first time this has been done.
Within hours, Taehyung’s ELLE Korea covers rose to the top of various Korean and Japanese stores.
