On January 23, “Christmas Tree” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, becoming BTS V’s fourth music video to reach the milestone, following “Winter Bear,” “Sweet Night,” and “Love Me Again.”
Released on Christmas Eve in 2021, “Christmas Tree” was featured as an OST for the drama “Our Beloved Summer.” The song was praised for V’s warm and gentle vocals, which deepened the drama’s emotional impact and heightened viewer immersion.
Music director Nam Hye-seung had V in mind from the planning stage when creating “Christmas Tree.” Reflecting on the process, she shared, “V’s voice has different charms in the low, high, and mid ranges, so while there was a lot to consider when making the song, it was truly enjoyable.”
At the time of its release, “Christmas Tree” made history as the first K-OST to enter the Billboard Hot 100 and, to date, remains the most-streamed K-OST worldwide on Spotify.
The song has also earned international acclaim, being named by Billboard as one of the best Christmas songs of the 21st century.
