BTS member Kim Taehyung, aka V, shows a glimpse of his potential as a box office megastar in the latest ranking.
According to the STARmeter popularity ranking on the US Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Taehyung ranked 4th out of 2,014 Korean actors and directors based on public awareness and interest.
IMDb, a subsidiary of Amazon, is an online database that provides information on movies, actors, TV shows, and video games from around the world. Since IMDb’s ratings and popularity rankings are determined by users of the world’s largest movie site, it is considered one of the most objective indicators for judging popularity.
Cannes-award-winning producer Park Chan-wook of ‘Old Boy’ ranks first, followed by Academy-award-winning director Bong Joon-ho of ‘Parasite’ in second place, and Korean-American actor Steven Yeun takes third place.
Although Taehyung only appeared in the 2016 drama “Hwarang,” he took fourth place, proving that he has earned worldwide recognition and popularity not only as a singer but also as an actor.
