On December 6, there were reports that BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie had broken up.
The two idols have been embroiled in dating rumors since last year when photos showing them vacationing on Jeju Island were leaked. Since the initial dating rumors, numerous photos were leaked on the web showing V and Jennie together at V’s home. Later, they were again spotted together in Paris, walking while holding hands.
With a handful of photos showing V and Jennie together, it has been widely accepted that the two are dating despite no official statements from either side.
Then, on December 6, JTBC reported that V and Jennie had ended their relationship before V’s upcoming military enlistment. Following the alleged breakup news, there have been numerous discussions on various popular online communities.
Among them, one post has been garnering much attention. One netizen shared the breakup news on the popular Korean online community Nate Pann through a post titled, “Jennie broke up. Male idol fans need to be on alert!! lol.“
In the post, the netizen wrote, “We’re in a nervous state because of the next possible (boyfriend) candidates lol.”
The netizen was referring to reports of Jennie dating G-Dragon and Kai in the past before V. After seeing the post, many fans became angered by this post and filled the comment sections with criticism towards the poster.
They commented, “Yeah, before writing such nonsense, try surpassing Jennie’s career.
