Jimin‘s solo debut performance continues to reinforce the already widely accepted fact that it is the most successful solo debut among K-pop/Korean artists in history, as he continues to set new records while also extending his existing ones on yet another major music consumption platform, iTunes, the world’s largest digital music buying platform.
Presently, Jimin and Sungwoon’s ‘With You‘ holds the record as the fastest song in history to reach #1 on iTunes in at least 100 countries and the first and only song in the history of iTunes to achieve a #1 in every country that has iTunes (119 countries as of now).
On the other hand, as previously reported, ‘Filter,’ another of Jimin’s solo songs under BTS’ discography, has topped iTunes in 117 countries so far, making it the B-side track with the most #1s in the history of iTunes among other records as shown below.
With his official solo debut, Jimin’s reign as the King of iTunes has kept growing, and he remains undefeated.
His pre-release track ‘Set Me Free Pt2’ became the fastest solo song in history to reach #1 in 100 countries and the second fastest song in general to achieve this, just behind ‘With You.’ So far, the song has attained #1 in 113 out of the possible 114 countries where it is available for purchase on the platform.
‘Like Crazy,’ the main track, achieved this feat in the 3rd fastest time. Thus, Jimin holds the top 3 positions for the fastest songs in history, reaching #1 on iTunes in 100 countries.
On May 10, ‘Like Crazy‘ (the Korean/original version) peaked at #1 on Nigeria’s iTunes song chart (all-genre), making this the 117th country for the song to achieve #1.
Thus, ‘Like Crazy’ extended its record as the song that has attained #1 on iTunes in the most countries in 2023.
As earlier mentioned, two other songs, ‘With You’ and ‘Filter,’ have already attained #1s in 119 and 117 countries, respectively. With this new achievement, ‘Like Crazy’ became the 3rd song by Jimin to reach #1 on iTunes in at least 117 countries, making Jimin the first and only artist in the whole world and in the history of iTunes to have 3 songs all reaching #1 in at least 117 countries!
