IU shared insights into her upcoming music video with Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Taehyung agreed to film a music video as his final schedule before his military enlistment at the request of IU, who is known to be his close friend.
On December 25th, IU uploaded a vlog on her YouTube channel teasing her new album set to be released next year. She shared some hints that heightened fans’ anticipation.
When asked about the music video, IU expressed great satisfaction, saying, “When I was shooting the MV, it was so good, the tone and mood. Even without any CG, it was great. Something that you’ve never seen in lU’s MVs.”
When the staff jokingly remarked, “Didn’t you try to run away back then?” IU humorously revealed, “To be honest, I tried [to run away]. But I got a flat tire. What’s funnier is that V-ssi first got a flat tire, so I was like “let’s run away” but my car too got a flat tire. I think they planted something like glass on the site so we couldn’t get away.”
Taehyung appeared in IU’s ‘Palette’ on September 12th. Their unexpected friendship surprised everyone, as they revealed they were close enough to use casual speech with each other.
IU introduced Taehyung by saying, “I think a lot of people would be surprised. How did V get to appear on ‘Palette’?” She added, “It’s not the first time we’ve met. We usually talk informally to each other.”
To which Taehyung responded, “We got close talking about music. We can talk so easily to each other when it comes to music. Our tastes matched well.”
They later sang “Ending Scene” together. IU praised their harmony and strongly recommended a duo performance, citing how well their voices blended together.
