Jimin now holds a total of 3 Guinness World Records as a solo artist across two music streaming platforms, Spotify and Soundcloud.
In an article posted on August 2 by Guinness World Records’ official account [read here], the entity clarified that Jimin holds two records on the Soundcloud music streaming platform with his first ever self-written and composed song ‘Promise,’ released on December 31 in 2018.
Notably, the Soundcloud record had already been published, but it was unclear if the record was only one (for the most streamed track overall), even though the article mentioned that the song was the most streamed in 24hrs and most streamed overall on the platform.
With this newly published clarification, it is now official that Jimin’s ‘Promise’ holds the record for the Most Streamed track in the first 24 hours of release on the platform with 8.5 million streams and the Most Streamed track of all time on the platform, currently standing at 330 million streams.
This is in addition to the previously published record on Spotify for the Fastest K-pop solo artist to reach 1 Billion streams on the platform, bringing Jimin’s total Guinness World Records to 3.
